21 YEAR VETERAN OF PISCATAWAY POLICE DEPT. NICHOLAS "SUMO" SUMMONTE
In November 2025, Officer Summonte, a 21 year veteran of Piscataway Police Department was diagnosed with Mucinous colorectal adenocarcinoma with signet ring cell. This cancer is a rare subtype, accounting for less than 1% of all colorectal cancer cases and was found to be elevated to stage 4 status.
Officer Summonte has since completed 600 hours of chemo to date and is still fighting to maintain some sort of regularity.
Presently he is at home with family resting comfortably.
